The house owner asked us to repair the badly rusted left-hand side railings of his Grade II listed property which were were pushing the gate out of line and causing damage to the stone column and plinth they were fixed to. We removed the railing section and gate and took them back to our workshop, where we refurbished them and fabricated a new journal for the gates. Once this was done, we returned them to site, cemented in the new journal, re-hanged the gate and reinstated the railing section so it looked as good as the day it was installed.
